I’m a lover of film, with pretty eclectic tastes, though I tend to gravitate toward science fiction and political dramas. I watch films over and over again, even if I don’t really care for them. It drives my wife nuts.
I’m a big fan of David Fincher, Danny Boyle, Oliver Stone, Peter Berg, Paul Greengrass, Alfonso Cuaron, and Steven Spielberg.
I have a dedicated home theatre with a 108″ screen with a motorized horizontal masking system, a 7.2 channel audio system, and 2 rows of 3 seats. My goal is to rarely ever have to go to a public movie theatre. I love the theatre experience, but I can no longer handle the droves of inconsiderate patrons.
I’m made a conscious decision to wait the three or four months for a film’s Bluray release. It’s just as cheap for me to buy a new release Bluray as it is for my wife and I to go to a public theatre. Having a good home theatre was critical in sticking to this plan.
Despite this, I will likely still go to see the new Star Wars films in a public theatre – I simply will not be able to wait for their Bluray release.
